Sophia Theodorides is recognized as a Class of 2023 Senior in the Spotlight.

Theodorides is a senior in the Nurse Assisting vocational program. She chose to follow Nurse Assisting at Southeastern because she knew from a young age that she wanted to be in the healthcare field, specifically as a registered nurse. Theodorides also says growing up with strong female figures who were independent and selfless supported her goal of pursuing a nursing career.

Her favorite experience in the vocational program was learning in various ways, both visually and interactively. She especially appreciated the opportunity to use the school’s SIM lab, which put all of her senses to use to learn communication skills and practical skills related to patient care.

Theodorides also enjoyed working with her peers at their co-op site, working both independently and together when needed. She worked at Copley at Stoughton and The Residence at Five Corners Assisted Living during co-op.

While at Southeastern, she was also involved in field hockey, cheerleading, lacrosse, book club, ski club, travel club and National Honor Society.

Following graduation, she plans to continue her education at Curry College where she will pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Her advice to freshmen is: “Be respectful to your teachers, build good connections and keep your good friends close, and life will be easier for you in the meantime. Don’t sacrifice your sleep on matters that won’t be remembered in a year. Join new clubs and be open-minded to new things.”

Southeastern’s Senior Spotlight honorees are chosen based on their high academic and vocational achievement. Seniors are selected from each of the nine towns Southeastern serves and are highlighted prior to graduation, which will be held this year on June 7.
