Principal Leslie Weckesser is pleased to recognize Alexandra Silva Duarte as a Class of 2023 Senior in the Spotlight.

Duarte is a senior in the Dental Assisting vocational program. She chose to join the Dental Assisting vocational program at Southeastern because it offers the hands-on experience needed to further her knowledge in the industry as a co-op.

While at Southeastern, she was able to secure her current position as a dental assistant at Brockton Dental and Orthodontics through Southeastern’s co-op program.

She has also been named the Class of 2023 Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School Valedictorian.

Her favorite experience in the vocational program was the opportunity to go to clinical and gain first-hand experience and insight into what it would be like to work in the dental field.

Following graduation, she plans on working full-time as a Licensed Dental Assistant at her current co-op placement, where she’s been working for over a year.

Her advice to freshmen is: “Ensure that you stay focused on your studies and prioritize your time so you can succeed, but don’t forget to enjoy your life as well and make the best of the time you have while in high school.”

Southeastern’s Senior Spotlight honorees are chosen based on their high academic and vocational achievement. Seniors are selected from each of the nine towns Southeastern serves and are highlighted prior to graduation, which will be held this year on June 7.
